Hotel Chocolat the chocolate and fizz collection
- Available from Hotel Chocolat (£39.95)
Best small chocolate hamper
Hotel Chocolat is a reliably winning choice, and this compact box is filled with a variety of chocolate treats to please anyone with a sweet tooth. We love the moreish chocolate macarons and crunchy chocolate shortbread, but there are also champagne truffles, mini chocolate slabs, hot chocolate sachets and a taster truffle box (the billionaire’s shortbread truffle is exceptional). All of this is topped off with a mini bottle of prosecco that the lucky recipient won’t have to share. DukesHill Meat Lovers' hamper
- Available from DukesHill (£130)
Best savoury hamper
If you know someone who takes their Sunday roast seriously, or whose weekend isn’t complete without a full English, then this is the hamper for them. One for the meat connoisseur, this meat hamper contains eight different items to try, from indulgent confit duck legs to a hearty pork pie. The two star items are a ham that DukesHill is famous for, and a porchetta roasting joint that would make a special family dinner – it's a breeze to cook, easy to carve and gives meltingly tender meat. We stocked our freezer with the bacon and sausages (to make the treats last as long as possible!), while the jar of sticky chorizo jam is a handy storecupboard staple that you’ll want to add to burgers, cheeseboards and pasta sauces.

Devon Hampers family afternoon tea hamper
- Available from Devon Hampers (£39.50)
Best family afternoon tea hamper
Devon and Cornwall are arguably the home of a classic cream tea, and this hamper makes the most of local produce from the south west. Devon Hampers have a huge range of afternoon tea deliveries to choose from, including vegan and gluten-free varieties. We tested the family hamper: designed to feed a family of four, the portions are generous and there are options to add a wide selection of extras such as fruit cakes, brownies or handmade chocolates. The four large floury scones were some of the biggest we’ve seen, and generously came with a whole jar of jam and big tub of smooth clotted cream. We liked the inclusion of two tangy Luscombe lemonades for non-tea drinkers, alongside extras of chewy ginger biscuits and buttery vanilla fudge. It is all delivered in a sturdy wicker basket you can keep as storage.

No longer any need to go out for a fancy afternoon tea with this fun delivery from Cutter & Squidge. Delivered in their signature bright yellow box, this tea for two contains four classic scones (we recommend warming them up to serve), clotted cream and jam, plus mini lemon drizzle cakes and fudgy brownies to complete the treats. There are also leaf tea bags to wash it all down. Order by 4pm for next-day delivery to solve any last-minute forgotten gift dilemmas…

Cartwright & Butler brew & biscuit hamper
- Available from Cartwright & Butler (£35)
Best small sweet hamper
A classic biscuit tin just got a boost with this sweet gift selection. Arriving in a smart tin that you can keep and reuse, it’s full of tea-break treats. Cartwright & Butler buttery shortbread is always a winner – we’re big fans of the sugary demerara shortbread for a tea break, and the cranberry or triple chocolate boxes included here too means there's something for everyone.

A thoughtful gift for a cheese fan, for under £30. This carefully curated selection centres around a mini wheel of award-winning Red Storm, a creamy Red Leicester from The Snowdonia Cheese Company. It’s paired with crackers (we love the unique tomato wafers), chutney and chilli nuts for a whole cheeseboard in a box. Check out our full round-up of cheese hampers for even more ideas.
